Taranaki Mountainairs (NBL) agreed terms with 31-year old Jamaican ex-international power forward Adrian Forbes (211-116kg-88, college: Auburn, agency: Haylett Sports). He just played at Alab Pilipinas in Filipino ASEAN League. In two games he had 4.5ppg and 5.0rpg this season.
Part of last summer Forbes spent at Metros de Santiago (LNB) in Dominican Rep. league where in 7 games he recorded 8.0ppg and 5.0rpg. He also played for Milwaukee in U.S. semi-pro league Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas. In three games he averaged 8.0ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.3spg and 3.0bpg.
In 2015 (three years after he left the college) Forbes was drafted by Canton Charge (D-League) in second round (34th overall).
The former Auburn University staris in his eighth season in pro basketball.
Forbes was voted All-Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas Honorable Mention in 2019. He was a member of Jamaican Senior National Team between 2009 and 2014.
Forbes is quite experienced player. He has played in nine different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Forbes has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Muharraq), France (Cognac BB), Indonesia (Pelita Jaya), Japan (Kagawa Five Arrows), Saudi Arabia (Al Ahli Jeddah), Venezuela (Guaiqueries), Dominican Republic (Pueblo Nuevo) and NBA G League (Grand Rapids Drive).
He could be described: A tough, athletic power forward with international experience and good skills at both sides of the court.
